Voluum Integration

Voluum is a popular cloud-based ad tracking platform. This guide explains how to configure Voluum to track Pushnami conversions and fire postbacks automatically.

Overview

With Voluum integration, you can:

  • Track all Pushnami traffic through Voluum's reporting
  • Automatically fire conversion postbacks to Pushnami
  • Analyze performance alongside your other traffic sources

Setup Guide

Step 1: Create a Traffic Source in Voluum

  1. In Voluum, go to Traffic Sources and click Create
  2. Name it "Pushnami" or similar
  3. Add custom parameters to capture Pushnami data:
ParameterToken
External ID{externalid}
Source ID{source}
Campaign ID{campaign}
  1. Save the traffic source

Step 2: Configure Your Campaign in Voluum

  1. Create a new campaign in Voluum
  2. Select "Pushnami" as the traffic source
  3. Note your campaign URL, which will look like:
https://yourtracker.voluum.link/abcd1234?externalid={externalid}&source={source}&campaign={campaign}

Step 3: Set Up Your Pushnami Destination URL

In your Pushnami creative, use this URL structure:

https://yourtracker.voluum.link/abcd1234?externalid=<<conversion_id>>&source={{=data.adsourceid}}&campaign={{=data.adcampaignid}}

This maps:

  • <<conversion_id>> → Voluum's externalid parameter
  • {{=data.adsourceid}} → Voluum's source parameter
  • {{=data.adcampaignid}} → Voluum's campaign parameter

Step 4: Add Pushnami Postback URL in Voluum

  1. Go to your campaign settings in Voluum
  2. Navigate to Postback URL section
  3. Add a new postback with this URL:
https://revtrc-api.pushnami.com/convert?t={externalid}&v={payout}
  1. Configure when the postback should fire (e.g., on all conversions or specific conversion types)
  2. Save your settings

Parameter Reference

Voluum TokenPushnami ParameterDescription
{externalid}tConversion ID for attribution
{payout}vConversion value/revenue

Advanced Configuration

Multiple Conversion Types

If you track multiple conversion types in Voluum (e.g., leads vs sales), you can configure separate postbacks:

For leads (no value):

https://revtrc-api.pushnami.com/convert?t={externalid}

For sales (with value):

https://revtrc-api.pushnami.com/convert?t={externalid}&v={payout}

Cost Tracking

To track your Pushnami costs in Voluum, add the cost parameter to your campaign URL:

https://yourtracker.voluum.link/abcd1234?externalid=<<conversion_id>>&cost=<<ad_cost>>&source={{=data.adsourceid}}

Custom Variables

Voluum supports up to 10 custom variables. Use them to pass additional Pushnami data:

https://yourtracker.voluum.link/abcd1234?externalid=<<conversion_id>>&var1={{=data.dcountry}}&var2={{=data.ddevice}}

Complete Flow

1. User clicks Pushnami notification

2. Redirect to Voluum with externalid=<<conversion_id>>

3. Voluum records click and redirects to landing page

4. User converts on your site

5. Your site fires conversion to Voluum

6. Voluum fires postback to Pushnami with {externalid}

7. Conversion tracked in both platforms

Troubleshooting

Conversions Not Appearing in Pushnami

  1. Check externalid - In Voluum's click log, verify the externalid contains the Pushnami conversion ID
  2. Verify postback URL - Ensure the URL is exactly https://revtrc-api.pushnami.com/convert?t={externalid}&v={payout}
  3. Check postback logs - Voluum shows postback response codes; look for successful 200 responses

Mismatched Data Between Platforms

  1. Timezone differences - Voluum and Pushnami may use different timezones
  2. Postback delays - Check Voluum's postback timing settings
  3. Duplicate filtering - Pushnami only counts unique conversion IDs

Click Discrepancies

  1. Bot filtering - Voluum may filter clicks differently than Pushnami
  2. Redirect losses - Some users may not complete the redirect chain
